On the Plaza in August

August is PACKED with events and we’re here to tell you all about it. As families are transitioning back to their school schedules, we have your social calendar all set up, so don’t you worry. Whether it’s live music, movies on the big screen, markets, water play on hot days and more, we have you covered. The Plaza is “Caldwell’s Living Room,” and we always have something going on. We still have a couple more months of hot weather, so we always make sure we’re available for you to not just cool down, but have fun doing it!

Here’s what’s happening this month in Downtown Caldwell:

Every First Thursday of the month, the downtown business community rallies together to bring you a district-wide event offering unique experiences and curated menu items for guests to enjoy. Every month, entirely new offerings are showcased making this a special night to be part of. Many chefs take advantage of the season’s local harvest for this event, and you can taste the difference! The participating businesses that are NOT an eatery love getting in on the action by hosting bingo nights, books clubs, cooking classes, art classes and more. Make sure to keep the first Thursday of every month on your calendar so you don’t miss out! Stay informed by visiting the events page at destinatoncaldwell.com

"The Main Event" Band is performing live for free on the main stage courtesy of Caldwell High School’s Class of 1985! Come enjoy some great classic covers, sure to get you singing along. These guys transport you back in time to the heart of classic rock. The Main Event is a vibrant musical collective based in Boise, where a deep passion for music leads them down two distinct yet harmonious paths: Classic Rock and Rhythm & Blues. Depending on the occasion, they can seamlessly shift between these genres or even blend them into a captivating fusion. The roots of Blues run deep for this band.

As they continue to evolve, they eagerly explore new sounds and collaborations. Each show becomes a unique experience, blending the nostalgia of classic hits and/or the raw emotion of blues, ensuring that every audience member leaves with a smile and a story to share. Join us in celebrating the transformative power of music and the joy it brings to our lives, one unforgettable performance at a time.

Let’s get this party started! Come on down this Saturday, August 9th from 6-9PM.

The plaza transforms into an ole honky tonk, packed with cold beers, live country music, and all the dancing your boots’ll allow. That’s right, cowboys, time to show her off! We’ve teamed up with Caldwell Night Rodeo for this rowdy, fun-filled night of celebrating the kickoff to rodeo week and Idaho’s best rodeo (not biased here). Seated as one of the nation’s Top 20 professional rodeos and also ranked within the Top 5 large outdoor rodeos, the City of Caldwell and the CNR has made a name for itself and we want in on the action. Come celebrate year 101 of this epic rodeo down here on the plaza.

Now you just have to decide one thing: You part of the “Rowdies” or “Civies?” (If you know, you know).

Live on the ICCU Main Stage: “SCOTTIE MAC AND THE NUGS” from 7-9PM

Introducing Scotty Mac & The Nugs, a vibrant and dynamic band captivating audiences across Idaho and beyond. Quickly amassing a dedicated fan base, our high-energy performances draw crowds night after night. Our debut single, 'Home to Idaho,' serves as a heartfelt tribute to our home, offering just a glimpse into the musical journey awaiting you with our EP, 'Nug Doc.' Hailing from the Treasure Valley, we've rocked nearly 200 concerts in the past year delivering an electrifying fusion of country and rock. While at the CNR Kickoff event, how off your cowboy cred in a friendly little competition on the mechanical bull. The wildest 8 seconds this side of the creek! Or is it, “Crick?” There will be prizes and bragging rights for the top three finishers. First 10 to sign up get to ride for the prize.

Everyone else who wants in on the action, bull riding is FREE for all Plaza guests, 18 and older. Hold on, this one's gonna get crazy!

Watch a LIVE STREAM of the Caldwell Night Rodeo!

Two nights to come down to the Plaza:
Friday, August 15th 6:30PM
Saturday, August 16th at 6PM

Even though the rodeo is sold out, that doesn't mean you can't get in on the action! We'll have real time footage of the events happening across town right here on the Plaza, "Caldwell's Living Room." Bring your favorite folding chairs, outdoor blankets for the kids and plan to get dinner, drinks and treats from your favorite downtown eateries.
