How Do the Splash Pads Work?

The fountain reclaims about 75% of the water that is used when the Splash Pads are on. It then returns to a 5,000-gallon tank under the sidewalk on Kimball Ave. All the tank water is cycled through two large sand filters, similar to that of a home swimming pool but in a much larger fashion. All the water going back into the tank is then injected with a high concentrate of chlorine controlled by a ChemTrol unit. The Chlorine is contained and injected in to the water by the tank and pump, this is also controlled by the electronic ChemTrol unit. We try to keep the PH level between 7 & 8.

The water goes back to the tank and is filtered off the top level of the tank. It is then pumped through 6 large UV light filters that will kill the bacteria that is not killed by the chlorine. Our water and filtration system is checked often throughout the day to maintain a safe fountain experience. Enjoy!
