The Program and Event Coordinator and Skate Shoppe Assistant Manager is a full-time, exempt position that requires flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends as needed.
This role supports Destination Caldwell’s (DC) mission to create high-impact projects that leverage the city’s rich agricultural heritage and vibrant community spirit to build a prosperous future for Caldwell.
The position assists in planning and executing events and managing the Indian Creek Skate Shoppe, helping transform downtown Caldwell into a dynamic, welcoming hub that connects locals and visitors with downtown businesses and cultural experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Skate Shoppe Management –Management of daily skate shoppe operations and staff. Including staff hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, working shifts in skate shop as needed, training and enforcing ice ribbon safety procedures, managing inventory and supplies, daily financial reconciliation and managing program activities such ice-skating lessons, season passes, field trips and skate for a cause events.
Private Rental Coordination – assist private rental coordination and guest assistance.
Program Execution – Assists with planning and execution of Destination Caldwell (DC) events including Indian Creek Plaza (ICP) Signature Events, Signature Series Events, Tuesdays on the Creek, Farmers Market, Community Events, private rentals and the Indian Creek Skate Shoppe.
Event Project Management – Utilizes project management tools to develop project schedules, monitor progress, disseminate information and communicate event details across Destination Caldwell departments and stakeholder organizations.
Event Logistic Coordination – Assist with execution of event logistics. Including vendor management, service orders and activity management.
On-site Event Management – Assist and lead on-site set-up and tear-down of events. Communicate event needs and requirements across teams working closely with DC staff, Facilities and Operations, contractors and stakeholders to ensure event details are executed accurately and efficiently.
Assist with DC fundraising event planning and execution.
Farm to Fork Farmer’s Market Support – Assist Farmers Market Manager with execution of the 20-week Farm 2 Fork Farmer’s market including vendor recruitment, developing vendor maps, invoicing, rule enforcement, coordinating weekly set-up and tear-down, post-event surveys, manage vendor questions and feedback and providing summary detail for future planning and assist with market assistance programs (Senior discount or EBT programs).
Destination Caldwell and Event Customer Service – Assist in staffing information booths, answering office phones and email inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Be an excellent brand ambassador for Destination Caldwell and Indian Creek Plaza.
Other duties as required.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s Degree or Two + years of related event job experience.
Two + years of customer service experience
Proficient in computer programs such as outlook and Microsoft suite, Online booking and business management systems (FareHarbor), Project Management Tools (Monday.com) and Point of Sale Systems (Square)
Must be able to speak, hear, write, type, sit, stand, kneel, bend, walk, and lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
Must be flexible as evening, weekend and holiday hours required
Must be willing to submit to background check in accordance with the cash handling policy
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent customer service experience
Experience utilizing equipment including hand and power tools preferred
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Valid Driver’s Licen
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
Both indoor and outdoor work environments with crowds, loud noises and flashing lights

Seasonal Part-time, hourly position at $15 per hour. Reports to Skate Shop Assistant Manager
The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise employees and provide guests with a positive impression of Indian Creek Plaza Ice Rink/Ribbon by offering an extraordinary guest service experience. This position will work cohesively with all ICP employees and volunteers to maintain an exceptional level of service and safety.
The Shift Lead Attendant is a part-time leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing direction and guiding staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all guests at the ice rink and skate shop. In addition to performing regular attendant duties—such as skate rentals, gate guarding, cashiering, and facility upkeep—the Lead Attendant supports and directs team members, assists with training, and ensures that all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
This role requires leadership, excellent customer service, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to guest concerns and emergencies. The Shift Lead plays a key role in opening and closing procedures, maintaining safety and cleanliness, enforcing facility policies, and fostering a positive team environment. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with both guests and staff are essential.

The Part-Time Ice Rink and Skate Shop Attendant plays a key role in delivering a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all guests.
This position involves rotating responsibilities including opening and closing the facility, gate and rink guarding, skate rental returns, and cashier duties.
Attendants are expected to greet guests warmly, enforce facility policies, respond to emergencies per established protocols, and proactively assist with guest concerns.
Strong customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.
