TUESDAYS ON THE CREEK
Four More Weeks Left!
Tuesdays on the Creek, our 20-week concert series that coincides with our weekly farmers market is on its last month! We aren’t slowing down, though. We have some talented and entertaining bands still ahead, as well as some great fall weather to enjoy them.
Here’s the “skinny” on the bands:
High Pine Whiskey Yell was born out of a desperate need for craft beer, deep powder, plastic jug moonshine, fast-moving rivers, and a deep-seated fear that artificial intelligence will ruin hard-driving bluegrass. This five-piece group of modern-day rounders sings songs about robots taking your job, banksters robbing from the poor, the trials of gold panning in Idaho, skiing/riding deep powder, UFOs, and a few other traditional bluegrass subjects (such as drinking, and dogs). If you like to have a good time, kick back with a cold one and your best buds, then High Pine Whiskey Yell is the band for you!
Tree City Travelers is a dynamic 5-piece bluegrass band based in Boise, Idaho. Drawing inspiration from both traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, the band creates a unique sound that blends rich harmonies, intricate instrumental arrangements, and heartfelt songwriting. Tree City Travelers has quickly gained recognition for their captivating live performances and their ability to captivate audiences with their energetic stage presence.
Object Heavy is a hard-hitting soul sensation. The band is led by the powerful, nuanced voice of Richard Love and composed of seasoned veterans in the West Coast Soul and Funk scenes. The group has spent the past few years establishing themselves as a standout live experience by touring the Western United States and sharing the stage with diverse talent.
Ashley Rose Band: If High Desert Soul was a thing, music that moves you through word and harmony in the tradition of true roots Americana, but with an ear towards jazz and a pocket as deep as river canyon — that’s the ARB. Their songwriting is simultaneously earthy as it is urban. Sincere lyricism, rich harmonic and rhythmic structure, (clearly influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Lucinda Williams & Ani DiFranco) all held up with the sturdy pulse of Vintage Soul & Motown. The ARB and brings a warm and stimulating fusion of straight-ahead American Roots Music.
Blackwater Railroad is a folk-rock group built from diametrically opposed backgrounds, coincidentally brought together by love of music and Alaska. In one evening, audiences will hear a wide range of the band’s muses as well as their originals. The band promises lots of dancing and laughter with friends.
Jay William Miller: Heavily influenced by scenes of mountains, rivers, and rowdy small-town Idaho, Jay writes songs about hard times and hard-core parties. Touring with his band he’s earned the description “sad boys that like to party” by offering some of the most dynamic live experiences Idaho has to offer. Jay William Miller sounds a little bit sad, a little bit western, and a lot of rock and roll. He’s not afraid to get loud and not afraid of a tender moment either.
Get ready for an unforgettable musical experience with Jukebox, the ultimate band and DJ combo! Live band and DJ seamlessly blend popular hits with electrifying beats, creating a night of non-stop entertainment. Smooth transitions keep the party going, with music spanning multiple decades and genres. High energy performances from talented musicians and a DJ that reads the crowd. Come ready to dance!
Four More Weeks Left!
If Tuesdays on the Creek is wrapping up this month, that means our farmers market is too. The end of harvest season here in the valley is coming to a close and we are finishing strong! Plenty of local produce vendors from generations-old farms still have their fields packed full of vibrant, tasty produce for you to stock up on. Local artisans fill the streets with their creations and yummy food vendors are still whipping up their finest eats for you to munch on while shopping and listening to live music. The good news is you’ll have something to do every Tuesday night in September!
NEXT MONTH
Pints and Pups
Only one day a year we break our own rules. Any rule breakers out there, this is your moment! Typically, K-9s aren’t encouraged on Indian Creek Plaza, but for this event we welcome all your 4-legged besties to the party. Not only are they invited, but they ARE the party! We cater to all things dog for our annual Dogtoberfest.
We’re going full Bavarian on this one and putting our own twist on the centuries-old German Oktoberfest. What better way to celebrate doggo than to have a cold beer in one hand and a leash in the other. This is a great opportunity for those water lovin’ pups to enjoy our splash pad for the afternoon.
Some event highlights include “Running of the Wieners,” so pack up those Dachshunds and bring them on down to the plaza. They’re just so fun to watch! Dress up your pup in their finest threads ‘cause there’s a costume contest. Go all out! Think you have the forearm strength of a 19th-century Bavarian farmer? Prove it! We’re having a Stein Holding Contest, so get those arms prepped and ready for the occasion.
